Chennai, October 6, 2026: Jaigopal Garodia Hindu Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, one of the prominent educational institutions under the Vishva Hindu Vidya Kendra (Regd.), is set to commemorate its Golden Jubilee – 50 years of educational excellence, values and service to society with a grand celebration in Chennai.
The main reason for Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji accepting our invitation is his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme, which drew the attention of our school and inspired us to follow the message. Subsequently, the school community, deeply imbibed with the spirit of desha bhakti, collected Re. 1 per day for 365 days from 10,000 students, 600 teachers and 250 non-teaching staff members. The amount was handed over to Army personnel at an event held in Nagercoil in the presence of the Prime Minister. It is also noteworthy that, during the school’s Silver Jubilee celebrations, the then Prime Minister, the late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, was the chief guest.
The celebration is expected to bring together around 4,000 participants, including students and parents representing the 15 group schools under Vishva Hindu Vidya Kendra, making it a significant gathering of the institution’s extended educational community.
The Golden Jubilee marks five decades of the school’s journey in nurturing generations of students through a blend of academic excellence, discipline, cultural values and holistic education through its motto Sa Vidya Ya Vimuktaye which means“That is true knowledge which leads to liberation.” and to be a worthwhile individual to the society.
Over the years, the institution has grown alongside the changing needs of education while continuing to place strong emphasis on character, knowledge and responsible citizenship.
The 50-year milestone is also an occasion to acknowledge the major contribution of alumni, teachers, staff, parents and the wider school community who have played an integral role in the institution’s growth and legacy.
Speaking ahead of the Golden Jubilee celebrations, the school management said, “The Golden Jubilee is a celebration of five decades of learning, values, commitment towards nation and collective effort to create or achieve Viksit Bharat. It is an opportunity to honour the journey of our institution, celebrate the achievements of our students and educators, and look ahead to the future with renewed commitment to education and nation-building.”
The grand celebration will bring together the present and past members of the Hindu Vidyalaya family and commemorate five decades of the institution’s contribution to education in Chennai.
