Chennai, September 01, 2024: The book release ceremony of “My Madras” written by C.K. Kariyali was held at C.P. Ramasamy Iyer Foundation Campus, Eldams Road, Chennai.
At the launch of this book, C.P. Ramasamy Iyer Nandita Krishnan delivered the welcome speech and gave notes on the book “My Madras”. TN Vasudevan, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Equitas Small Finance Bank, Chairman, Tamilnadu Real Estate Regulatory Authority Chairman Shivdas Meena received the first copy. Retired IAS Jayanthi and others also participated in the event.

About the book “My Madras” he said:-
After I went to Delhi for work, the name Madras was changed to Chennai, but the word Madras still lingers in my memories.
Even when I buy a train or plane ticket, the word Madras comes out of my tongue without my knowing it.
The old never changes, the new beautiful Madras today I am in awe of the spectacular growth.
Whenever someone asks which city in northern states, I always say Madras.
The people of northern states look at the people of south India and call them Madrasee

Then came the idea of starting a bank with Equitas Small finance Ltd. I came eager to meet this person who attracted me at least once. On December 31, 2007, when I came to meet him, Kariyali retired as Additional Secretary to the Tamil Nadu Governor’s House. Couldn’t meet him that day. The next day was New Year’s Day 2008
Had a chance to meet. I consider this to be an unforgettable event
