Deepam Hospital, one of the fastest growing healthcare groups in the healthcare sector, is
gearing up for expansion of its hospital operations across Chennai city. Having already
established multispecialty hospitals at various locations in the last 3 decades, Deepam is now
entering into an exclusive eye care specialty hospital with the opening of its first unit at
Urapakkam. The unit is in proximity to the new bus stand that was inaugurated recently in
Urapakkam. This will be the exclusive eye centre in the name of Deepam Eye Hospital with
well-equipped and dedicated healthcare facilities.
Deepam group is planning to establish chain of Eye hospitals across the state. This initiative has been taken by Dr Annamalai Pandian Chairman and Dr Karthik Pandian Managing Director of Deepam Hospitals.
For Deepam Eye Hospital, Senior Opthalmologists have joined as consultants along with senior trained refractionist as well as OT assistants and administrative staff. They have been selected after rigorous training programs.
The tariff for treatment has been economically priced to ensure that affordable treatment is
available for all people in the society. For instance, a cataract surgery would cost Rs10,000-Rs15,000. As an integral part of community service, the group has plans to open free vision centres which will deliver free examination and consultation services particularly in the rural areas. The objective is to identify the disease and refer the patients to main hospitals for further treatment
