The Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation proudly presents the 22nd edition of the Chennai International Film Festival (CIFF), a prestigious platform celebrating cinematic brilliance.
From December 12th to 19th, 2024, the city of Chennai will once again transform into a global hub for filmmakers, industry professionals, and cinema aficionados, uniting under one roof to revel in the art of storytelling.
As we embark on this cinematic journey, we are honored to announce that Mr. AVM K Shanmugam has graciously assumed the esteemed roles of General Secretary of the Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation and Festival Director of the Chennai International Film Festival.
Festival Sections:
This year’s CIFF will showcase a diverse array of segments:
Tamil Feature Film Competition: A showcase of excellence, with a maximum of 12 films vying for top honors.
Indian Panorama: A vibrant selection of 12 to 15 films representing the richness of Indian cinema.
World Cinema Competition: An exclusive competition featuring up to 10 films from around the world.
World Cinema Non-Competition Section: A curated collection of award-winning films from leading international festivals like Cannes, Berlin, and Venice.
Students’ Competition: A platform for budding filmmakers from Tamil Nadu’s MGR Film and Television Institute to shine.
Retrospectives, country Focus, special sections etc
Master Classes: An opportunity to gain profound insights from industry veterans and cinematic experts.
Submission Criteria:
Tamil Feature Film Competition: Open to films censored between 16th October 2023 and 15th October 2024 (Both days included). No entry fee is required. All submissions must include English subtitles and be submitted through the FilmFreeway portal under the Chennai International Film Festival.
Other Sections: Submissions must also be made exclusively through the FilmFreeway portal.
Submission Deadline: 2nd November 2024
Notification of Selection: 30th November 2024
Selected films must provide screening materials in DCP format. Films will be screened across six screens at two premier venues, with details forthcoming.
