Presented by Ashvita’s | On view until 2 November 2026
Ahmedabad: Games People Play 03, the third iteration of artists Thukral & Tagra’s ongoing project, presented by Ashvita’s, is now open to visitors at the Urmila Kailash Black Box, Kanoria Centre for Arts, Ahmedabad. The exhibition opened on 27 October 2026 and will be on view until 2 November 2026, from 12 noon to 8 pm.
The exhibition’s opening was attended by art enthusiasts, collectors, members of the creative community and invited guests, who experienced the latest chapter of the artists’ ongoing exploration of play, perception and the structures that shape our experiences.
Conceived as a playtest in exhibition making, Games People Play 03 unfolds as a curatorial gameboard over seven days, featuring seven works drawn from different moments in the artists’ practice. The exhibition explores play as a psychological, social and political condition, shaped by present day anxieties and ideas of vulnerability, anxiety, hope, belief, speculation, adaptivity and care.
Each day marks a new state, with artworks coming together as pieces in play rather than static objects. Visitors are invited to navigate this shifting field of time, memory, displacement and chance, and consider how feelings and processes influence one another, and how our responses can change the rules.
The first iteration of Games People Play was presented in 2015 at the Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum, Mumbai, followed by its second iteration at Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi, in 2025. This third chapter brings the project to Ahmedabad, continuing Thukral & Tagra’s engagement with play as a way to examine contemporary life.
Visitors can experience Games People Play 03 at the Kanoria Centre for Arts until 2 November 2026.
