Chennai: Hindustan Group of Institutions (HGI) participated as a Founding Partner of the India Global Education Summit (IGES) 2026, organised by the Government of Tamil Nadu in collaboration with NISAU UK at Kalaivanar Arangam, Chennai, reinforcing the institution’s focus on global academic collaboration and international engagement.
IGES 2026 brought together policymakers, academic leaders, industry representatives and global education partners from over 20 countries and 400 institutions, providing a platform for dialogue on higher education, research and student mobility.
As part of the summit, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin laid the foundation stone for the Tamil Nadu Knowledge City, an 872-acre integrated project planned near Chennai, aimed at supporting higher education, research and innovation.
HGI played an active role at the summit through an exhibition showcasing student and faculty projects, and participation in panel discussions on ‘Universities as Drivers of National Development’ and ‘India as a Destination for International Students’, alongside Indian and international delegates.
Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Chairman, Hindustan Group of Institutions said, “The summit provided a useful platform for dialogue between government, academia and international partners. The discussions and the delegation visit have helped identify areas for collaboration in education, research and academic exchange.”
Dr. Vikas Misra, Vice Chancellor, Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science also participated in a closed-door roundtable discussion with leadership from Indian and international universities, chaired by Tmt. Sandhya Venugopal Sharma, IAS, Chairperson, TIDCO, and Thiru Sandeep Nanduri, IAS, Managing Director, TIDCO, along with Ms Sanam Arora, Founder and Chair, NISAU UK, to explore potential academic collaborations.
Following IGES 2026, an international delegation led by Ms Sanam Arora visited the Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS) campus. The delegation included representatives from City St George’s University of London, University of Oxford, London School of Economics, Regent Global Group (UK), ICEF and Bloomsbury Institute.
During the visit, the delegation toured key academic and research facilities and held discussions on joint programmes, research collaboration, and student and faculty exchange. HGI’s engagement at IGES 2026 reflects its continued efforts to strengthen international partnerships and global academic networks.
