MRF Indian National Racing Challenge 2W Round 2 – Day 3

Chennai, September 2026: Sarthak Chavan, the teenager from Pune, took no prisoners as he romped to his second consecutive victory in the premier Super Sport 301-400cc Open class to complete a double in the second round of the MRF Indian National Racing Challenge 2W – 2026 which concluded at the Madras International Circuit, here on Sunday.

Starting from pole position, Sarthak stumbled a bit in the beginning which allowed the Chennai teenager and his Petronas TVS Racing team-mate Rakshith Dave to take the lead. The duo held position until the last lap when Sarthak passed Rakshith at Turn-4 and went on to win. Behind them, Hyderabad’s Rahil Pillarisetty (RACR Castrol Power1) carved his way from the back of the grid to P3 but was left with too much gap to make up as the trio finished in that order.

Elsewhere, 16-year-old from Chennai Kabilesh Rajini Krishnan (RACR Castrol Power1) also recorded a double in the Super Stock 301-400cc Open class. Having won Race-1 on Saturday, Kabilesh topped Race-2 today, after a red-flag stoppage and restart. The race was reduced to a three-lap sprint that Kabilesh won handily from Bengaluru’s Seshadri S (Motul Gusto Racing) and Kamal Navas (Rockers Racing), also from Chennai.

Chennai’s Ann Jennifer (Motul Sparks Racing) continued her unbeaten run in the Super Stock 165cc Intermediate class as she completed a double with another fine win. It was her fourth win in a row this season. Another local rider Anandhu KK (Veedol C2 racing) also notched a double in the Stock 301-400cc Novice class that was cut to four laps following a red-flag stoppage.

Earlier, Faruk Ali Sohtun (Motul Sparks Racing) marked his long journey from East Khasi, Meghalaya, with a brilliant win in the Stock 165cc Novice class as he kept his nerves in a close finish to lead a podium sweep for his team. Yashwant Varma from Visakhapatnam, came in second, ahead of Raja Sreeharsha Singamsetty from Tadipatri, Andhra Pradesh.

In the weeknd’s last race, Venkatesan Iyyappan came through for a superb win in the Pro-Stock 200cc Open class. The six-lap race was an exciting affair as half-a-dozen riders swapped lead until Venkatesan broke clear of the field even as a couple of riders in contention crashed in the last lap.
