The Third Global Summit of Tamil Entrepreneurs and Professionals The Rise- inaugurated by Mr. R.Balakrishnan, IAS (Rtd),Former Additional Chief Secretary, Govt of Odisha, Prof. Dr. Lilian Jasper,Principal, Women’s Christian College, Mr.M.G.Devasahayam, IAS (Rtd), Former Chief Secretary,Govt of Haryana, Nawabzada Dr. Mohammed Asif Ali,Dewan to the Prince of Arcot, Dr.Ku.Sivaraman,CMD, Arogya Siddha Hospital, Mr. Saravanan Karthikeyan,Consul General of Malaysia on 14th November 2019 at the Women’s Christian College, Nungambakkam, Chennai. Mrs. Latha Pandiarajan, Advocate Kanimozhi mathi, Anand Gomathi, Ezilarasi, Nandhini lighted the lamp on this auspicious Occasion.
Delegates from more than 30 countries are attending the Summit. Industry Minister Mr. M. C. Sampath, and Minister for Tamil Language Development Mr. MaFoi Pandiarajan addressed the delegates. Envisioned and created by The Rise, a fast expanding global network of Tamil entrepreneurs and professionals founded by Rev. Fr. Jegath Gaspar Raj, the Summit is the third edition within a short span of eleven months, a commendable feat for a new organization.
“The Summit calls for deepening of a culture of multi stakeholder collaborations, and expansion of resources based small – medium entrepreneurial ventures as a response to economic slowdown and massive joblessness, while keeping the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations as the foundational belief for action” said Fr. Jegath Gaspar Raj, founder visionary and global head of The Rise movement.
One major initiative of The Rise Summit will be – GTAI (Global Tamil Angel Investors) Mr. Mohan Kumaramangalam, a professional Fund Manager cum investor, and active politician would head this initiative.
GTAI will encourage and nurture entrepreneurship in Tamil Nadu by providing funds, market access and mentorship. The overarching mission is to create substantial employment opportunities for the educated Tamil Youth by helping Tamil entrepreneurs build successful companies. The Rise Team is working on to create an interface between various industries and institutions during the Summit.
“Frequency of such multi industry interfaces can help enterprises to innovate, cut cost, increase efficiency and strengthen collaborations”. Mr. Josh Foulger, MD and Country Head of Foxconn India will lead a high level panel to deliberate on how to turn Tamil Nadu into a hundred billion dollar Electronics Hub. Mr. Josh believes that manufacturing holds the scope and potential for massive job generation along with countless number of allied small – medium companies.
Some of the flagship initiatives awaiting to be launched during the Third Global Summit of Tamil Entrepreneurs and Professionals apart from Global Tamil Angel Investors are; Consortium of Tamil IT Entrepreneurs and Professionals, Consortium of Global Tamil Auditors and Finance Professionals, Consortium of Global Tamil Exporters and Importers, Global Tamil Retailers Network, Global Sales Force to support IT products and services, Real Estate Investment Trust, Global Tamil Legal Facilitation offices, Global Tamil Consultancy Services and taking up Tamil Teaching as entrepreneurship.
Panel Discussions during the Summit would include Innovative Agricultural Technologies and Robust Organic Supply Chains, Integrative Health Care, Health Tourism, Heritage Tourism, Yoga and Lifestyle entrepreneurship, Media, Art’s & Sports Entrepreneurship, and Managing Stress & Business failure in times of economic slowdown, and 21st Century Education. Dr. Ku. Sivaraman, a celebrated Siddha icon will curate the Integrative medicine Panel. Key Resource Persons who would guide various session attending the Summit.

The Rise is also announcing a “Global Tamil Award. Nominations are closed. A high level panel will select the Top Ten Global Tamil Entrepreneurs based on the following criteria: Business size, Impact, Leadership and Governance, Community contributions.
