THE RESIDENCY TOWERS HOSTED GRAND CAKE MIXING CEREMONY TO WELCOME THE FESTIVE SEASON

Chennai, 30th October 2019: The Residency Towers celebrated its annual cake mixing ceremony with joy on 30th October 2019. This year, the special invitees were Actress Yashika Anand and many other socialites.

The invitees donned aprons, gloves and caps, and armed themselves with bottles of liquor, ready to tackle the colourful mounds of dry fruits, nuts and spices. The uniqueness about this cake is that, ‘it is ninety nine percent trans-fat free’ (cakes are baked using a 100% butter), and the ingredients will be kept to mature for the next couple of months and the delicious cakes will be ready for sale on 20th December.

General Manager of the hotel, Mr. Erin Louis briefly addressed the invitees and announced the commencement of the ceremony. Being a long-awaited celebration of an age-old tradition, the spirited chefs of The Residency Towers, were gleefully joined by the celebrities and other guests. They generously mixed the rich ingredients, hand-picked to showcase some of the region’s most vibrant flavours.

The cake mixture included nine varieties of nuts and dry fruits and an array of aromatic Indian spices soaked in liquor. A 125 kilogram mix was made with Cashew Nuts, Almonds, Ginger Peel, Orange Peel, Figs, Dates, Dry Cherries, Raisins and Tutty Fruitty. Some of the aromatic Indian spices used were Cinnamon Powder, Cardamom Powder, Ginger Powder and Nutmeg Powder. The liquors included Wine, XXX Rum, Brandy and Whiskey. The Residency Towers were excited to host this fun-filled event, heralding the onset of the new season.
