The RCC Magnum Foundation in its quest to serve the humanity has come up with a noble project of Skill Development under Pradhan Mantri Yojna of “Skill India,” for the under privileged youth & women in and around Kancheepuram. In collaboration with Hand in Hand India, have launched a wellness training centre and tailoring training centre for women & a Mobile Repairing Centre for Youth in Kancheepuram.
We are inspired by a Chinese proverb “If u fish for someone you feed him for a day. Instead teach him fishing and you feed him for the rest of his life”. We are going the extra mile to ensure that we support their journey of entrepreneurship with financial assistance too.
The President of the organization, Prashant Achha informed that to aid our efforts we have conducted a half marathon, MAGNATHON 2019 – at Olcott School, Besant Nagar on 8th of Dec 2019. The event was well supported by various sponsors including Madras Super Store and Shriram Transport Finance Limited. Mr Jay Ranka, Magnathon Director informed that around 2000 individuals from different parts of the city participated in this event. There were 4 categories – 5, 10 & 21 KM and a special category of 1.5 KM in which kids of age 6-12 run alongside their parents. The 1.5km category was flagged off by Mr Jiiva, the leading actor of Tamil movie industry.
Dr SR Sam Paul, an entrepreneur and philanthropist of Paulsons group was the chief guest and distributed the prices to the winners of Magnathon.
500+ students from Ethiraj College participated in this marathon. Flag off was done by a respectable socialite Thiru. V.M. Muralidharan – Chairman of Ethiraj College.
Mr Abhishek Jain, the project director said that we have already trained more than 250 deserving students and they have started generating additional income and are leading better lives.
The secretary, Mr Aadish Parmar informed that elaborate arrangements were made in all aspects including route marshals, hydration points and a sumptuous breakfast to ensure it’s a one of a kind event.
