“Grand by GRT Hotels” is celebrating music and food this Margazhi at J. Hind, its signature restaurant.
With the Margazhi season all set to commence, Grand Chennai by GRT Hotels, is bringing the season and flavours of Margazhi to its guests with a month long fest called ‘Grand Gana Sabha’. The inauguration was done by Mrs. Lakshmi Ravichander and Mrs. Saraswathi Krishnakumar along with Mr. Vikram Cotah, Chief Operating Officer of GRT Hotels & Resorts.
The Grand Gana Sabha is also providing a platform for aspiring musicians. They can call, enrol themselves and be a part of this festival.
“We have put together an interesting ensemble of artists for our guests. They can enjoy the mellifluous renditions along with great food”, said Mr. Elango, Senior General Manager, Grand Chennai by GRT Hotels.
The fest began with stunning performance by S. Aishwarya and S. Soundrarya , granddaughters of M.S. Subbulakshmi on the 13th December 2019. Ms. Padma Shankar on the Violin will be performing on the 14th. Ms. Deepika Varadarajan (Vocals) combines with Ms. Shantaia Subramanyam (Flute) on the 21st and Ms. Subashree Ramachandran, daughter of Trichur Ramachandran performs on the 4th of January 2020.
Nothing completes a Carnatic music concerts like the season’s favourite foods. “The menu includes traditional Sabha canteen favourites like Mullangai Keerai vadai, Vazha Poo Fritters, Doughnut Idly with Gotsu, Puliyogare Thibale with Chill Plantain and Maravalli Sago kheer”, says Chef Sheetharam, corporate Executive Chef, GRT Hotels and Resorts.
