Dyson expands in India, opensits fourth Dyson Demo Store in Chennai

Chennai, 18th October 2019: Dysontoday officially opened the doors to its first Dyson Demo Store in the city ofChennai, expanding its presence in India to four demo stores. The retail space has beendesigned as an interactive space to encourage visitors to pick-up, test andexperience Dyson’s technology, which has been engineered for people’s homes andwell-being. The new demo store is situated at VR Chennai, located in theneighbourhood of Anna Nagar in the city.

Dyson’s portfolio of key technologies willbe on display: Dyson V11TM cord-freevacuum: TheDyson V11TMAbsolute Pro cord-free vacuum is a result of more than a decade of cord-freevacuum and Dyson digital motor development to intelligently deep clean yourhome. Thanks to the new Dyson digital motor V11, which spins at up to125,000rpm, the Dyson V11TM cord-free vacuums provide powerful fade-free suction with 40%more suction power than its predecessor, the Dyson Cyclone V10 TM vacuum[1].

The Dyson V11 TM vacuums bring anew level of intelligence to cleaning, automatically sensing and capturingdebris, while reporting vacuum performance on an LCD screen in real time, aswell as ‘The Indian Household Hidden Dust Study 2018,’ which shows thatcockroaches and dust mites allergens along with dog allergen  are present where we sleep, sit, play anddrive.

Visitors to the Dyson Demo Store in Chennai will be able toexperience the machine on three different floor surfaces, with a variety of dust and debris at hand.  Visitors will be able to see the Dysondigital motor up-close, and speak to Dyson experts about which technologies aremost suitable for their home.

Dyson Air Purifiers: The new Dyson Pure Hot+Cool™ air purifier isuniquely engineered for year round use – delivering fast and even room heatingin winter, powerful cooling in summer; and efficient purification -removing 99.95% of allergens and pollutants as small as 0.1microns[2],  from the air, through allseasons.

The machine automatically detects airborne particles and gases andsimultaneously reports to the new LCD screen and Dyson Link app in real time, encouraging well-being and maintaining comfort levels in the home.  Visitors can also experience the Dyson Pure CoolTM  Advanced Technology Tower air purifier andDyson Pure CoolTM Advanced Technology Desk air purifier; that automaticallydetect and capture microscopic airborne pollutants in your home, reporting liveindoor and outdoor air quality to the new Dyson Link App – allowing users toremotely track the inside air quality at all times.

Dyson experts are on hand to explain the wayin which the hardware and software integrate to give the machine intelligenceand reveal invisible airborne pollutants.

Dyson Supersonic™Hair Dryer Conventionalhair dryers can be bulky and difficult to manoeuvre, can blast air at hightemperatures, which can cause extreme heat damage, all with the risk of hairbeing sucked into and trapped in the filter. Dyson engineers set out to rethinkthe hair dryer.   Dyson Supersonic™ hair-dryer has been designed for fast drying without the reliance on extra heat, while meeting everyday stylingneeds.

The Dyson V9 digital motor4, which spins at 110,000 timesper minute3 is able to deliver 41 litres3of powerful and controlled airflow every second using the V9 motor and patentedAir Multiplier technology, stripping water from the  hair whileimproving the smoothing and alignment of hair without relying on excessiveheat. Housed within the head of the Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer is an intelligent heat control system which monitorsoutput airflow 40 times per second3to ensure effective control of temperature, preventing exposure to excessiveheat, and improvingoverall hair shine and health.

The Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer is a result of £50 million investment in its development over 6 years including the creation of a state ofthe art laboratory dedicated to investigating the science of hair. Dysonengineers spent over four year studying hair from root to tip, understandinghow it reacts to stresses, how to keep it looking healthy and how to style it.

Dyson Airwrap™Styler Unlike most styling tools that rely on extreme heat to style hair, the Dyson Airwrap™ Styler uses jets of air toallow you to achieve voluminous curls, natural waves and smooth blow-dryfinishes – at home. Also usingDyson’s fast, high-pressure digital motor V9, the Dyson Airwrap™ stylerharnesses a phenomenon known as the Coanda effect. The effect occurs when ahigh-speed jet of air flows next to a surface and, due to differences inpressure caused by the surface, the air flow attaches itself to the surface.Taking advantages of this principle, Dyson’s team of aerodynamicists created away to style hair using only air combined with heat. The result creates anatural look with a sleek finish, helping prevent extreme heat damage.

The Dyson Demofeatures two styling stations to allow for people to test and experience theDyson Supersonic hair dryer and Dyson Airwrap styler. Dyson Beauty Advisorswill be present to explain how the machine works and offer styling advice.Complimentary in-store styling appointments will be also be provided.  Dyson LighcycleEngineered to providethe right light for the right time of day, the Dyson LightcycleTM task light supports your bodyclock with local daylight tracking that continually adjusts colour temperatureand brightness. Designed to reduce eye strain with over 1,000 Lux brightness, the Dyson Lightcycle maintains light quality for 60years[3], thanks to Heat Pipe technology.User personalisation is a feature that is made possible through the Dyson Linkapp – designed to support optimal illumination throughout the day.

Pete Duckett, Engineering Manager, Dyson says: “Dyson technology works differently. It is engineered to solve real problems. Hence, it is critical for people to beable to test and experience our technology, so they can understand how itworks. The opening of the Dyson Demo Store in Chennai is a testament to ourambitions to expand our footprint in India further and to bring Dysontechnology closer to the people. This space allows us to bring engineering tolife, to better understand the needs of our owners, and to help peopleexperience our technology in a Dyson environment. You can pick-up the machines, pull them apart, and thoroughly test them on our test tracks with various dustsamples.”
