73rd Birthday Celebration of Kalaimamani Abirami Ramanathan

Chennai, 26th Aug 2019: 73rd Birthday Celebration of Kalaimamani Abirami Ramanathan was celebrated at his office situated at No.4,“Kasturi Estate” 2nd Street, Poes Garden, Chennai on 26th August 2019 (today morning).

Abirami Ramanthan has received several awards for his achievements & contribution to the Tamil film industry & his philanthropy in Rotary. He is the recipient of Kalaimamani Award, Star of Cinema Award, Raja Sando Award from Govt of TN; Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi Award, MGR Sivaji Award, Business Excellence Award by India Business Journal.

Currently he holds the following positions:

President – Tamilnadu Cinema Theatre Owners Federation, President – Multiplex Association of Tamilnadu, President – Tamil Film Chamber of Commerce, President – Chennai City Film Exhibitors Association Executive Committee member – South India Chamber of Commerce and South Indian Film Finance Association.

Achievements:

1957 – Acted as Child Artist in English short film “Cha Cha Nehru” acted along with former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru (holding his fingers, walking & talking with him, along with C.Subramaniam (Minister), Vyjayanthimala Baali, Minister Bakthavatsalam, Minister Kakkan. Film directed by Director K.Subramaniam (Father of Padma Subramaniam).

2003-04: Rotary District Governor (RI Dist 3230 – Chennai to Vellore), 1995 October – First to introduce DTS – Digital Theatre Sound System in India. 1992 – First to introduce Computer based Movie Ticketing system

First to introduce Dial-A-Ticket – movie ticket home delivery in India, First to introduce Dolby Stereo System in Tamil Language Theatre, First to introduce Digital Projection in India, First to introduce 7 star theatre with massage chairs, reclining seats, waiter on call facilities – in India Many more…

Today his birthday celebration is attended by several celebrities and people from Tamil film fraternity.
